Museo del Oro ( The Gold Museum)
This museum offers the most extensive collection of Pre-Colombian (gold)
artifacts. The museum houses over 33,000 authentic pieces from various
Pre-Colombian Cultures.
The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9:00
AM to 4:30 PM.
Museo Nacional ( The National Museum)
One of the oldest museums in America, it is a testimony to Colombian History.
Pre-Colombian, natural, colonial, and art history leading up to modern
times.
The museum offers spectacular art exhibits, concerts, conferences, and
other programs for children and adults.
The museum also contains a wonderful restaurant and gift shop.
Open Tuesday from 10:00 am to 7:30 PM. Wednesday through
Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:30 PM. Sunday from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Museo de Arte Moderno (Museum of Modern
Art )
This museum offers a collection of paintings from a variety of famous
artists as well as many contemporary pieces. There is a restaurant and
gift shop.
Open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 6:00
PM., and Sunday from 12:00 PM. to 5:00 PM.
Museo de Arte Colonial ( Colonial Art
Museum)
The museum features various paintings from artists such as Arce, Ceballos
and other great artists, wood carvings, furniture, sculptures, books and
documents from the colonial era.
Open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.,
and from 2:00 PM. to 5:00 PM.
Museo Arquelógico (Museum of Archeology)
The
museum contains more that 12,000 pieces of pre-Colombian artifacts from
the different Colombian cultures. The museum is located in the Marquéz
de San Jorge, one of the more spectacular examples of colonial architecture.

Quinta de Bolivar
(Bolivar's Home)
A 1800 m country house given by the government to Bolivar in recognition
of his merits.
It
holds furniture, guns, recognition's (honors), documents and clothes.

Museo del 20 de Julio (20th of July Museum.)
Colombia Independence Day. Souvenirs that remind heroes and facts of the
Colombian independence day. Clothes and documents that belonged to the

Cerro de Monserrate (Monserrate
Hill)
There
is a very good view of the city from the top of Monserrate (3210 m.) It
is reached by a funicular railway and a cable car. The convent at the
top is a popular shrine. At the summit of the mountain there is a platform
overlooking the whole Sabana de Bogotá.
